MANILA, Philippines - Police announced yesterday the arrest of four suspected members of a car theft syndicate in Quezon City late Tuesday night.
Those nabbed were identified as Rogelio Mutic, 18; Christopher Lolong, 25; Eric Babiano, 25; and Junry Wenceslao, 20; all of Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
Quezon City Station 6 chief Superintendent Antonio Yarra said the suspects were collared at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Yarra said a concerned citizen told police of suspicious-looking men along Halamanan Street, Barangay Commonwealth, prompting policemen to patrol the area.
Yarra said his men seized three handguns, a 12-gauge shotgun, and a Honda XRM motorcycle from the suspects. The motorcycle was stolen from Jobert Sahulog, 35, of Barangay Batasan Hills, who said his vehicle was taken from him at gunpoint last year.
Yarra, in his report to Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Elmo San Diego, said the victim was able to identify Wenceslao and Mutic as the ones who stole his motorcycle. – Michael Punongbayan
