Fire hits Manila apartment

-

MANILA, Philippines - A three-story apartment building in Sampaloc, Manila was gutted by fire before dawn yesterday.

No one was reportedly hurt in the 50-minute blaze that hit the house owned by Pacita Palma on Dela Fuente street at around 2:52 a.m.

The fire, which destroyed P100,000 worth of property, started at the ground-floor unit rented by Nardo Bagui.

The fire reached the third alarm but was put out at 3:42 a.m. before it spread to neighboring houses.

Probers said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire, but added they are looking into faulty electrical wiring as a possibility. – Edu Punay
