Man kills neighbor over old grudge

A 34-year-old construction worker was shot dead in his home in Caloocan City by a neighbor who nursed an old grudge yesterday.

Police said Salvador Niebres was resting in his house in Barangay 171 when Isidro Soriben barged in and shot him in the chest with an improvised shotgun.

Another neighbor, Leny Salome, 40, tried to pacify Soriben but he shot her in the leg. Other residents took Salome to the Jose Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Tala for treatment.

Police said Soriben fled after the shooting and remains at large. – Jerry Botial
