Fire hits Makati apartments

MANILA, Philippines - A fire broke out at a five-door apartment in Barangay Olympia, Makati City yesterday, leaving more than 20 families homeless.

The Makati Fire Department said the fire started at the second floor of one of the apartments along Novaliches street. It was put out at around 4 p.m. after eight firetrucks rushed to the scene.

Police investigating the incident said that several of the occupants were on an outing. No one was reported injured in the fire.

Arson investigators are still conducting a follow-up investigation on what caused the fire. – Rhodina Villanueva
