Caloocan factory supervisor hurt in heist

-

MANILA, Philippines - A factory supervisor was stabbed during a robbery in Caloocan City at past midnight yesterday.

Superintendent Jose Valencia, Caloocan City police North Extension Office (NEO) chief, said Jean Garner, 34, a supervisor of Hen-Len Siopao Factory, was walking on her way home when she was attacked by a knife-wielding man along Main Road in Bagong Silang at around 1:30 a.m.

The suspect grabbed Garner by the neck and tried to divest the bag she was carrying, which contained a cell phone, some cash, and other valuables. Instead of giving up her bag, Garner put up a fight, prompting the suspect to stab her and flee with her bag.

Residents rushed Garner to the nearby Nodado Hospital but she was later transferred to the East Avenue Medical Center due to her unstable condition, police said.

The Caloocan City police NEO operatives were still conducting a follow-up investigation into Garner’s case yesterday. – Pete Laude
