3 'cops' rob Pasig warehouse

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines - Wearing police uniforms, three heavily armed men carjacked a sports utility vehicle near the Balintawak tollway in Quezon City before proceeding to rob a warehouse in Pasig City Thursday.

Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Lino Calingasan ordered a massive manhunt against the suspects, who were described by witnesses as between 25 to 28 years old and fair complexioned.

Calingasan said the suspects, wearing blue police athletic uniforms, ransacked the compound of Sales Team Marketing Inc. (STMI) along Bernal street in Barangay Rosario.

He said the suspects took the white Nissan Urvan (TYH 507) from Aldwin Anciado near the Balintawak tollgate in Quezon City at about 11 a.m. Thursday.

Anciado said the three men were wearing blue t-shirts with “PULIS” markings, and carried high-caliber firearms.

The suspects ordered Anciado to transfer to the back of the vehicle, where they tied him up.

One of the suspects drove towards the STMI office where the lone security guard, Mark Tenorio, 26, opened the gate for them.

Once inside, the suspects herded Tenorio, delivery boy Bienvenido Dagsa, assistant supervisor Renato Torres, messenger Julius Cesar, warehouse supervisor Crispin Pica, and salesman Felix Millang Jr. to a waiting area, where they were also tied up. The suspects brought Anciado to join the other victims.

The suspects ransacked the first and second floors of the warehouse before fleeing on board Anciado’s Nissan Urvan.

Benjamin Briones, 32, the firm’s finance manager, said they lost an undetermined amount of money and personal belongings to the robbers.

Calingasan directed the Pasig City police to prepare the cartographic sketches of the suspects as described by witnesses, and coordinate with other police units in Metro Manila.
