'Make Camanava unsafe for criminals'

-

MANILA, Philippines - Newly designated Northern Police District director Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao told yesterday his men to make Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela (Camanava) “unsafe” for criminals as he formally assumed his post as the new NPD chief.

“You must ensure the safety of our law abiding citizens and you must also ensure that Camanava would be “unsafe” for lawless elements,” Pagdilao told the NPD police officers.

Pagdilao also asked the residents’ cooperation in the fight against criminality saying: “Fighting crime is not a singular responsibility of the police but also of the community. It’s a shared duty.” He urged his men for their full commitment and dedication in achieving the “ultimate mission” of making Camanava a safer community.

“Be dependable and be trusted policemen in serving our masters, the citizens,” Pagdilao said.

Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales, the new Metro Manila police director, who attended Pagdilao’s assumption of office, also told the NPD cops to do their “best” in fulfilling their sworn duties and responsibilities by showing to the community that “we care for our people.”

Pagdilao, a lawyer, and formerly the National Capital Region Police Office-Deputy Regional Director for Administration, took over the NPD post from Chief Superintendent Eric Javier. Javier, a graduate of the US West Point Military Academy, is now chief of Directorate for Integrated Police Operation-Eastern Mindanao. He stayed at the NPD for three months.           – Pete Laude
