MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested three members of a street gang yesterday for allegedly killing a member of a rival gang and critically wounding another in Pasig City.
Suspects Renz Mark Melchor, 18; Luigie Gamboa, 21, and Edmund Feruelo, 20, denied killing Gerry Talaman, 23, and wounding Jonathan Metes, 19, who is under observation at the Holy Life Health Care Center.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Lino Calingasan said both victims were stabbed when a fight erupted between the “8-Miles” and “Clown” gangs in Barangay Manggahan at past midnight last night.
Talaman and Metes were members of the “8 Miles” gang, while the three suspects are from their rival gang. The suspects said they were just passing by the area and were also hurt in the rumble. Metes identified the three suspects as among their attackers.
The Pasig City police are readying murder and frustrated murder charges against the suspects. – Non Alquitran
