Neighbor attacks American missionary in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines - An American missionary filed a complaint Tuesday night against his neighbor for allegedly attacking him without an apparent reason.
Randall Earl Bradbury, 50, a native of Florida, went to the Quezon City Police District-Station 3 alleging that his neighbor, John Lee Peñol, 22, punched him at around 8 p.m. in front of his house.
Bradbury, who has spent a number of years serving in the Philippines, and Peñol are both residents of Teresa Village in Barangay Bahay Toro, Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo said.
Pedrozo said the American missionary’s house is right across Peñol’s residence.
In a television interview, Bradbury said he could not believe what happened because his neighbor is among those he had helped in the past as a missionary.
Pedrozo said when his men went to Peñol’s house following the filing of Bradbury’s complaint, the man was already inside the residence.
Pedrozo explained that his policemen cannot enter the house and arrest Peñol without a warrant as they could be the ones who accused of trespassing.
He said a case of physical injury will be filed against Peñol. – Reinir Padua
