Woman found dead in apartelle bathroom

MANILA, Philippines - A 44-year-old boarder was found dead yesterday in the bathroom of their apartelle in San Juan.

Maria Petronilla, a boarder at the Carmela Ladies Residence on M. Domingo street in Barangay San Perfecto, was already dead when she was found at about 4:30 a.m.

Police said blood was oozing from Petronilla’s nose but Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) personnel did not see any external injuries on her body.

Initial investigation showed that the victim’s fellow boarder, Laila Carera, went to the bathroom early yesterday to urinate but failed to open the door. Carera said she repeatedly knocked on the door but nobody answered.

Police said Carera woke up another boarder, Adela Gonzales, and they tried to open the door. They asked the help of barangay watchmen Crisostomo Juan and Antonio Paca, who forced the door open and found Petronilla’s body.

Police are still determining the cause of Petronilla’s death. – Non Alquitran
