MANILA, Philippines - A couple was injured after they figured in an accident that involved five cars and two motorcycles along Diosado Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City shortly before noon yesterday.
Senior Police Officer 2 Vic Cabuco of the Pasay City Traffic Bureau said Daryl and Olga Tarius, residents of Batihan Greenside Home, Calagasan, Imus, Cavite, sustained wounds and bruises and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Initial investigation showed that around 11:20 a.m., Geronimo Labia Jr. lost control of a Nissan Serena (XHJ-281) he was driving and rearended a Honda CRV (XJC-526), which consequently hit nearby cars and two motorcycles.
Among those damaged were an L-300 van (ZKA-109) driven by Mario Geron of Rosario Batangas; a Honda Accord (URL-715) driven by Nicanor de Mesa; and a Honda Civic (UMR-145).
Apart from the Tarius’ Honda XRM motorcycle (PE-1494), another motorcycle (NT-6944) driven by Benjie Rey Melvin also figured in the incident.
The police said they have yet to determine if Labia, who is now in police custody, can be held liable for the incident.
