Sexagenarian dies in 'sex marathon' at hotel room

MANILA, Philippines - A 64-year-old company supervisor was found dead in a hotel room in Sta. Cruz, Manila yesterday morning after checking in with a woman for what he reportedly told hotel staff was a “sex marathon” that would last until today.

The man was identified through a company identification card as Robert Lee, of Potrero, Malabon, a supervisor of United Asia Weaving and Trimming Manufacturing Corp.

SPO2 David Tuazon said the victim and his companion checked in Thursday night at the Villa Fiesta Lodging House and occupied a second-floor room.

The victim even told hotel staff they were planning to extend their stay at the hotel until Valentine’s Day.

Shortly after midnight yesterday, a room boy discovered the door to the victim’s room was ajar, prompting him to knock and enter when no one answered. He saw the victim lying naked from the waist down on the bed and not breathing.

Tuazon said the victim had no external signs of body injury. Lee’s coin purse contained several suspected Chinese sex stimulants, according to police.

Hotel staff said the victim’s companion left at around 12:25 a.m. or 20 minutes before the victim was found dead. However, they failed to get the woman’s name.

Police said the victim could have taken stimulants and suffered a heart attack while having sex.

Chief Inspector Alberto Peco, Manila Police District homicide chief, ordered a follow-up investigation.
