Suspected pusher yields P.1-million shabu

-

MANILA, Philippines -  Police arrested an alleged big-time drug pusher during a buy-bust in Caloocan City Sunday night and seized three sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of P120,000.

Police Officer 2 Ariosto Rana, Northern Police District-District Anti-Illegal Drugs (NPD-DAID) investigator, told The STAR that a police informant was able to “close a deal” with Abul Mamaodang, 36, and agreed to meet with him at a fast food chain in Monumento.

The police poseur-buyer approached the suspect and handed him some marked money in exchange for the three sachets of shabu, Rana said.

Chief Inspector Jerome Balbontin, NPD-DAID chief, and his agents arrested Mamaodang as soon as he received the money.

PO3 Fidel Cabenta said Mamaodang “is very elusive, for he deals with only those he knows.” Mamaodang refused to comment.

Balbontin’s men also arrested last week in Caloocan City suspected pushers Eric Monzon and Angel Tamayo, both from Cavite, who yielded some P250,000 worth of shabu.   – Pete Laude
