Housewife loses P1 million to burglars
A 42-year-old housewife lost P1 million worth of valuables and cash in her house in Las Piñas City to alleged members of the Akyat Bahay Gang.
Police Officer 3 Ralph Lauren Morelos said Amor Quiambao showed up at the police station and reported the incident Monday night.
Quiambao told policemen they only discovered the heist when they arrived home around 9 p.m. after shopping at a mall. What they immediately noticed was that the kitchen window, which had grills, has been destroyed.
Quiambao and her daughter checked on the bedroom and found their things in disarray. She claimed her P1-million jewelry set, P27,000 and $1,500 in cash; and a Sony digital camera worth P15,000 were among those taken by the suspects.
Police said the robbers entered the back of the house by destroying the window‘s steel grills. Morelos said they are conducting a follow-up investigation on the incident. – Rhodina Villanueva
