NBI to submit findings on Valley Golf brawl today

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Nestor Mantaring said they are scheduled to submit to the Department of Justice (DOJ) their report on the brawl at the Valley Golf and Country Club between the families of Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman Sr. and businessman Delfin de la Paz.

Mantaring said the NBI-National Capital Region (NCR) has yet to secure copies of other documents from the Antipolo City prosecutor’s office before they can come up with their final report. The NBI sent one of its agents to gather the missing documents.

He said he has not yet read the NBI-NCR’s draft report “so it is too early to say what… our recommendations” would be.

Lawyer Teodoro Pastrana said his clients, Nasser Pangandaman Jr. and his brother, Hussein, are open to amicable settlement provided that De la Paz’s camp makes the first move.

NBI-NCR chief Edward Villarta said they have taken the statements of six caddies who allegedly witnessed the brawl, as well as four personnel – including the clubhouse manager – of the country club.  – Evelyn Macairan
