Husband kills OFW in Quezon City
A female overseas worker was found dead in her own home in Quezon City after a fight with her husband Friday night.
Police said Hilda Mutilla Maala’s body, which bore several stab wounds, was found at around 7:30 p.m. in the bathroom of her house in Barangay Culiat along Tandang Sora Avenue.
Police Officer 2 Joycelyn Marcelo said they have launched a manhunt for the victim’s husband, Arnold Maala, whom they identified as the prime suspect in her killing.
Prior the discovery of the body, police learned from Hilda’s brother-in-law, Alexander Sison, also a resident in the area, that he last saw her alive with the suspect at around 2:30 p.m. Friday at her house. Hilda was doing laundry when Sison left her house.
At around 3 to 4 p.m., neighbors heard the couple arguing, investigators learned.
Neighbors later noticed blood flowing through a nearby canal and found it originated from the bathroom of the Maala house.
Sison later dropped by the Maalas’ home and was shocked to find Hilda’s body. Arnold was no longer around. – Edu Punay
