Fire hits Pasig hotel

A fire of unknown origin hit the fourth-floor of the Discovery Suites Hotel in Pasig City Sunday, prompting hotel officials and firefighters to evacuate guests from the building.

Nobody was injured in the fire but damage to property was placed at P500,000.

Arson investigator SFO2 Salvador Norberte said the fire started in the sauna room of the hotel’s wellness and fitness center on the fourth-floor, possibly due to a defective heating apparatus.
