Indian businessman shot dead in Ermita

An Indian businessman was shot dead outside his restaurant in Ermita, Manila Saturday night.

Santip Kumar, 32, owner of the Stop and Taste Indian and Pakistan Halal Food Store on M.H. Del Pilar street, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center after sustaining bullet wounds in the neck and body.

Initial investigation showed Kumar was chatting with his employees in front of his restaurant at about 10:15 p.m. when an unidentified man arrived, pulled out a gun, and opened fire at him before fleeing on foot. – Mike Frialde
