Erap supporter loses gold ring in motorcade
A staunch businessman supporter of former President Joseph Estrada lost yesterday his gold ring with diamonds worth more than P30,000 while alternately throwing candies with Estrada to the jolly residents of Sta. Ana in Manila during Estrada’s Lakbay Pasasalamat motorcade.
The businessman, who requested not to be identified, told The STAR that he was carried away by the warm reception that Estrada received while having the motorcade from the Kalentong Market all the way to Barangay Panaderos, Punta to the Sta. Ana Church (Our Lady of the Abandoned) without getting a hint that he would lose his gold ring.
“I just realized that I lost my ring when we arrived here in the Church. I value the ring, not because of its amount, but because of its sentimental value,” the businessman said.
The businessman could only sigh in desperation that his right hand is no longer carrying his valued ring while continuing to join the former President in the gift-giving to poor residents of Sta. Ana.
“I’ll just charge it to experience,” the businessman said.
The businessman has been joining Estrada in his Lakbay Pasasalamat which he started since his release from his detention in his rest house in Tanay, Rizal in October last year. – Jose Rodel Clapano
