Balikbayan killed in road mishap

A balikbayan was killed while a driver was seriously hurt when the taxi he was riding in was sandwiched by two 10-wheeler trucks along EDSA in Mandaluyong City after midnight yesterday.
Inspector Elmer Constantino, Station Traffic Enforcement Unit chief of the Mandaluyong City police identified the victim as Josele Laquindanum, a native of San Gabriel, Macabebe, Pampanga and presently billeted at the Rennaisance Hotel.
Constantino said Laquindanum had just arrived in the country for a week-long stay to visit his grandparents and relatives.
“His family is in New Jersey in the US. He went home alone to pay his family a visit,” Constantino told The STAR. – Non Alquitran
