NAIA nabs fake CIDG operative
Airport police apprehended yesterday morning a male in a camouflage green T-shirt and suspiciously roaming around the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Centennial domestic terminal hallway carrying a black belt bag.
Philippine National Police airport security center head Manuel Pintado in his report to NAIA assistant general manager for Security and Emergency chief Angel Atutubo said that a certain Dionie Tangkihay y Abrigana, 24 years old, of Cabacungan Claveria, Misamis Oriental was invited for questioning at the PNP-ASG office why he roamed several times around the terminal despite the fact he was not a passenger.
Initial investigation showed Pintado and SP01 Ruben Bernardo found one .45 caliber pistol (#21242820), with one magazine loaded, three pieces of 9mm pistol Berreta (n53439z), M09575z and TZF38331 with three mags loaded, LandBank ATM cards, assorted PNP/military IDs, several passbooks (AFPSLAI/AMSLAI) and other documents found in his belt bag.
Pintado said Tangkihay introduced himself as a police senior inspector assigned at the Criminal Investigation and Detention Group (CIDG) but he was asked to show proof of his personal identity, Tangkihay failed to show any identification.
Tangkihay was brought to the Pasay City fiscal’s office for proper disposition. – Rudy Santos
