4 caught with pipe bomb, ammunition

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested four suspects who yielded a pipe bomb and several guns during a raid in Taguig early yesterday.

Sources from the NBI are still verifying if Sabila Zaman; his wife Norma Padua Zaman; Jefry Sabaddin, alias Faisal Abdullah; and Nasir Banggawan, alias Naser, are members of a kidnap-for-ransom gang, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), or even a terrorist organization.

The four suspects were arrested at Block 1, Lot 2 Rattan Apartment in Maharlika Village and NBI-Criminal Investigation Division agents, headed by Bon Huy Lim, seized a pipe bomb, a Colt .38 handgun, five .38 caliber bullets, 13 .45 caliber bullets, and two magazines for a .45 caliber pistol.

The NBI said Sabila Zaman was believed to be alias Arex Guimba, a suspect wanted for various criminal activities.

NBI said they received information from an insider that criminal elements were planning to sow terror in Metro Manila.

The NBI said they are also looking for Ben Piang; Kage Dante, alias Naser; and a certain Faisal Abdullah.  – Sandy Araneta
