Valenzuela to inspect gas stations

The Valenzuela City government is set to inspect gas stations in the city for tampered or defective pumps, which they allegedly use to “shortchange” their customers, a councilor said yesterday.

Councilor and Liga ng mga Barangay local president Alvin Feliciano said his office has received numerous complaints that some gas stations allegedly tampered with the calibration of their fuel pumps so the customers would get less fuel than the amount they purchased.

He said business owners found deliberately using defective pump calibration could have their business permits revoked.

Feliciano called on residents to inform authorities, particularly his office, of “this illegal activity.” – Pete Laude
