Mindoro gov's aide nabbed for drunk driving, loose firearm
An aide assigned to the office of Marinduque Gov. Jose Antonio Carrion was arrested in Malabon City yesterday for drunk driving, possessing an unregistered gun and going against the flow of traffic in a one-way zone.
Inspector Darwin Santuyo identified the suspect as administration aide Joel Constantino, 32, a resident of Barangay Concepcion.
Police Officer 2 Rommel Habig said PO3 Raymundo Sablaon Jr. and PO1 John Aldielon Fronda were manning a checkpoint when they saw a Mitsubishi L300 van going against the traffic in a one-way zone in Pinagtipunan Circle at around 1:30 a.m.The lawmen accosted Constantino and ordered him to get out of the vehicle. They said Constantino tried to hide his Llama Max 9mm pistol with his white backpack, which contained five .38 caliber bullets, three 9mm bullets and a black holster. The suspect could not present ownership papers for the gun.
Constantino was taken to the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon, where he was subjected to a medical exam to determine if he had been driving under the influence of liquor. – Jerry Botial
