Makati deploys 204 'green cops'

The Makati City government will deploy 204 personnel to enforce environment-related ordinances and laws starting today.

These 204 new environmental law enforcers will take their oaths today as duly authorized agents of the city’s Department of Environmental Services, headed by Danilo Villas.

“We are proud to present the 204 environmental enforcers who have undergone a rigid environmental police training workshop,” Villas announced yesterday.

He said the DES has stepped up its efforts to effectively implement local and national environmental laws by continuously conducting the environmental police training workshop at the community level.
