2 cops killed in Caloocan

At least two police officers, one with a rank of inspector, were killed in two separate incidents yesterday in Caloocan City.

Inspector Pete Quiros, 42, a member of the Pampanga provincial police and a resident of Maypajo, Caloocan City, was shot dead at around 10:30 a.m. in front of his house.

Quiros was reportedly having a heated argument with his neighbor, Cesar Santos, when the latter’s son, Carlito Santos, allegedly intervened and shot the policeman to death. The younger Santos escaped after the incident.

Another police officer, Senior Police Officer 1 Ricardo Agacer, a member of a Special Weapons and Tactics team of the Caloocan City police North Extension Office, was beaten to death while trying to break up a street melee in front of a bar at around 3:15 a.m.

Agacer was driving his motorcycle on his way home when he chanced upon the fight. He had introduced himself as a police officer, but three men –Danny Natividad, an alias Louie and a certain Aldrin – repeatedly hit him when he tried to intervene. – Pete Laude
