Army man pokes gun at baker, student

-

A Philippine Army soldier allegedly drew a gun on two residents of Pasay City Wednesday night.

Police Officer 2 Giovanni Arcinue identified the suspect as Private First Class Mark Lopez, 27, assigned to the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division’s Intelligence Battalion based in Camp Capinpin in Tanay, Rizal.

Arcinue said the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. when Lopez passed by a bakery in Maricaban.

Lopez introduced himself as a policeman and for no apparent reason poked his gun at baker Aimar Sapilan, 21; and student Bobby Boleche, 16.

Concerned residents in the neighborhood reported the incident to Barangay 185, Zone 19 officials, who rushed to the site and brought Lopez to the police station.

The police confiscated a .45 caliber pistol from Lopez.   – Rhodina Villanueva
