Three members of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik Gang were arrested by police officers after they robbed four jeepney passengers of valuables in Pasay City late Sunday night.
Pasay police chief Senior Superintendent Marietto Valerio identified the suspects as Nelson Tegio, 22; Francisco Garnaba, 22; and Jules de Leon, 18.
The suspects were arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by a team led by Senior Police Officer 1 Claro Ventura after receiving information from a tipster that the three robbers were sighted along P. Manahan Street in Pasay City.
Valerio said prior to the arrest, victims Angela Manalo, 22; telephone operator Gina Cortez, 36; saleslady Gemma Enabore, 27; and security guard Marlon Calolot, 30, approached policemen patrolling F.B. Harrison street and said they were robbed of their cell phones while in a passenger jeepney around 11:30 p.m. The victims alleged that the suspects threatened them with bladed weapons.
The police seized the bladed weapons from the three suspects, who are facing robbery charges.
