7 hurt as jeepney rolls over in Manila
Seven people were seriously injured when a passenger jeepney overturned on the MacArthur bridge in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The police have yet to release the names of those injured, who were taken to the Philippine General Hospital for treatment.
The police said Angelo Albis was driving the jeepney (TXK-430) at top speed when the jeepney rolled over as he tried to avoid another vehicle and hit an island instead at around 11:15 a.m.
One of the passengers said Albis was speeding, and when a passenger tried to tell him to slow down, he reportedly told them to just hold on to the railing.
Albis is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries. – Sandy Araneta
