Robber victimizing dentists falls

Police arrested yesterday one of Manila’s most wanted robbers who preys on female dentists and order his victims to strip naked to prevent them from getting out of the clinic to get help.

Some five dentists who were victimized by the suspects have identified Manuel Garcia, 28, of 437 Pacheco St., Tondo as one of two men who held them up on separate occasions inside their clinics by pretending to be patients.

Based on the victims’ complaints, the suspects have already stolen more than a hundred thousand-peso worth of loot.

Chief Inspector Alex Navarette, chief of the Mayor’s Special Action Team (MSAT), said his agents conducted surveillance operations for several weeks.

Navarette said Garcia and his companion always ride tandem on a motorcycle to scout for possible victims, mostly female dentists, and once they found their prey they would pretend as patients.

Once inside the clinic, Garcia would pull out a .45 caliber pistol and rob the victims.
