QC mayor donates guns to policemen

The Quezon City Police District received 100 new handguns from the local government.

Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. turned over the caliber .40 pistols to QCPD director Senior Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula during simple ceremonies last week.

“This will be a great support to the police and to the QCPD in particular and we will expect more than a hundred police rookies who will be assigned to the QCPD,” Gatdula said.

Gatdula expressed appreciation to the city government’s support to the city police.

QCPD said the firearms are part of the hundreds of millions worth of logistical support donated to the QCPD by the city government under the stewardship of Belmonte.

“The Quezon City government is very much supportive of the QCPD especially when it comes to logistical support,” Gatdula said.   – Reinir Padua
