Caloocan council OKs release of P110 M for socialized housing

-

The Caloocan Development Council (CDC) has approved the release of P110 million fund for land improvements and socialized housing for the city residents, as part of the local government’s development projects.

Mayor Enrico Echiverri said the amount will be taken from the city’s P204.6-million socio-economic development fund.

“We will work towards providing the public with improved facilities and additional infrastructure projects… to bring our residents a better quality of life,” he said.

Echiverri said the additional infrastructure projects, which include road and drainage improvement, would allow for increased business activity and more investment to pour into the city.

The socialized housing program would give security of tenure to residents of resettlement areas such as in Bagong Silang, Camarin and Tala, he said.

City budget officer Jesusa Garcia said the city government would be constructing additional school buildings, multi-purpose covered courts and other school facilities. – Pete Laude
