4 Bordado Gang members shot dead

Four of five payroll robbery suspects were killed in an encounter with policemen at The Fort in Taguig City yesterday morning.

Taguig police chief Alfred Sotto Corpus said they received a tip that the “Bordado Gang” was planning to rob a construction firm at The Fort of its payroll money. The police set up chokepoints at major intersections in the area.

He said police officers from the Southern Police District, Taguig City, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR) encountered the suspects at a chokepoint along Mckinley Road at around 11 a.m.

The suspects were in a maroon Toyota Revo (UMS-748) and a motorcycle when they opened fire at the lawmen. An exchange of gunfire ensued.

Two of the suspects died on the spot while two others were declared dead on arrival the Ospital ng Makati

The slain suspects were identified by their alias as Tato, the alleged leader; Junior, Bunso and Boy.

The fifth suspect, who sped away on a motorcycle, is now subject of a police manhunt. The police recovered two handguns from the suspects.

SPD director Chief Superintendent Luizo Ticman said the Bordado Group is responsible for a series of payroll robberies in Metro Manila.

CIDG-NCR chief Senior Superintendent Ericson Velasquez said the gang was behind the killing of a security guard during a robbery in Pateros, a payroll robbery in Cavite, a heist at a grocery store in Caloocan City, and robberies of Indian nationals in Taguig.
