QC to donate P5M to Frank victims
The Quezon City Council has approved a resolution expressing the city government’s sympathy to the provinces affected by typhoon Frank at the same time authorizing Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. to allocate P5 million as financial and humanitarian assistance to the victims.
Council Majority Leader Ariel Inton said the resolution that was certified as urgent by Belmonte was approved by the City Council Monday.
“The donation will be given to local governments directly affected by the calamities,” Inton said.
This donation is the latest assistance that the city government extended to typhoon-devastated areas across the country.
Last year P8 million was donated as financial assistance to local government units in the Bicol region devastated by a series of typhoons, the latest of which was super typhoon Reming, which killed almost 1,000 people.
