Billboard firms make appeal

-

Billboard companies warned the government that the the P2-billion outdoor advertising industry could lose its competitiveness if Congress continues to suspend hearings on the proposed Magna Carta for the billboard industry.

Oliver San Antonio, spokesman of the Billboard Safety Initiative (BSI), said that reasonable regulation is needed since the industry is growing fast and there is a need for government standardization.

BSI, is a group composed of the country’s top five billboard companies who are members of the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP).

San Antonio said the House of Representatives should resume the congressional hearings on the Magna Carta so that new entrants and old industry players should be guided by new regulations.
