Inventor promotes new commuter bus design
A Filipino inventor urged the use of commuter buses and jeepneys that are designed to accommodate more passengers as part of the measures to save gas with the continued increase in the prices of diesel and gasoline
Antonio Andes, a scientists and chairman of the Bicolano Inventors Society, had developed an idea to manufacture so-called “high capacity transport vehicles” or buses and jeepneys that are designed to accommodate more standing passengers to maximize occupancy and save fuel.
“Although they can accommodate more than double the normal capacity, they consume the same amount of fuel per trip so 50 percent fuel savings is attained in consideration with the volume of passenger it can transport per trip,”
