Smut seized in Valenzuela

The Valenzuela City police seized an undetermined number of pornographic publications and 200 compact discs and digital video discs in two barangays yesterday.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Rainier Idio said the pornographic materials were seized along Karuhatan Road and at the Malinta flea market. No arrests were made.

Idio said the operation was prompted by an urgent call from a concerned citizen, who identified himself as “Professor Gonzales” from the University of the Philippines.

Idio promised to continue police operations against those selling pornographic materials, but residents told The STAR that with no one arrested and with police operations spotty at best, pornographic materials will still be sold in Barangays Karuhatan and Malinta. – Jerry Botial
