NBI seizes P.2-M fake light bulbs

-

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confiscated P263,500 worth of alleged imitations of Philips light bulbs from a mall in Binondo, Manila recently.

In a report, the NBI said a representative of Koninklijke Philips N.V. went to their office and complained that they have been receiving reports that two stalls at the New Divisoria Mall have been selling imitations of their products.

After confirming the complaint, the NBI seized 13,175 counterfeit Philips products from the two stalls, based on a warrant issued by Manila City Regional Trial Court Judge Antonio Eugenio Jr. The owners of the stalls face charges of trademark infringement and unfair competition.              – Evelyn Macairan
