Suspect in Caloocan killings charged

-

Formal charges were filed Wednesday night against the younger brother of a woman found dead Monday with her two sons in their residence in Caloocan City.

City police chief Superintendent William Macavinta said charges of robbery with multiple homicide had been filed against Ramon Rodney Isaac, 25, tagged in the rob-slay of his elder sister Marife Ordono, 36, and his nephews Marc John, 12, and Jovrie Ivan, 4.

Caloocan City assistant prosecutor Manuel Caidic recommended no bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty, Macavinta said.

“The victims’ relatives, including their patriarch, refused to sign the complaint affidavit, but since it’s a public crime, the fiscal granted the charges after thorough evaluation,” Macavinta told The STAR.

He said that Marife’s husband, Joseph Ordono, 36, an overseas Filipino worker in South Korea, remains unconvinced that Isaac killed his family.

“For the refusal of the victims’ kin to cooperate with the authorities, it’s now the police that would pursue the case,” Macavinta said, declaring the case “solved.”

Macavinta said at least four new witnesses surfaced and pointed to Isaac as the prime suspect in the robbery and killing of Marife and her two children.

On Monday night, the victims were found dead and already in the early stage of decomposition inside the house in Deparo, Caloocan City. Isaac was the one who found the victims.    – Pete Laude
