3 minors rescued from Malaysian sex den

-

Three teenage girls who were forced to work as prostitutes in Malaysia arrived in the country yesterday and were met at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport by their parents.

The three girls left the country last March 13 and were promised work in a Kuala Lumpur restaurant and a daily wage of P5,000.

“Their recruiter, Leonido ‘Fred’ Sauro, told us that our children would work in a restaurant. We didn’t know our children would be prostitutes,” one of the parents said.

The parents, who requested anonymity, said one of the girls was able to contact them through their cell phone and tell them of their fate.

The parents sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation and Pilipino Star Ngayon columnist Ben Tulfo to bring their daughters back and prosecute Sauro, who is in the custody of the NBI.

The parents of the three girls were asked to wire the sex den operator in Kuala Lumpur P180,000 and $5,000 for their release. – Rudy Santos
