3 arrested in Marikina jueteng raid

 Police arrested three bet collectors while in the act of drawing the winning combination for jueteng, an illegal numbers game, during a raid in Marikina City Monday.

Superintendent Sotero Ramos Jr., Marikina City police chief said his men confiscated assorted lists of bets, a calculator, ballpens, a “bulilyo” and P3,150 from suspects Nardito de Leon, 50; Ernesto de Guzman, 48; and Carol Bautista, 48.

However, the three suspects refused to name the financier of their jueteng game, which was held at their “safehouse” on E. de la Paz street in Barangay Sta. Elena at about 5 p.m.

Ramos ordered the raid following reports that jueteng resurfaced in Marikina City in the past days.

Police are readying illegal gambling charges against them.    – Non Alquitran
