SPD gets 60 new cops
Southern Police District Director Chief Superintendent Luizo Ticman has announced that 60 policemen will soon join the 200-strong SPD force in
He said these new recruits will help beef up patrol operations in southern Metro Manila, especially in cities which they have identified as priority areas.
“These new policemen to become part of the SPD are presently undergoing training and afterwards, will formally join us within this month,” Ticman said adding that the new recruits will soon be deployed in areas needing assistance.
He noted that initially, they have identified Baclaran,
“These police personnel will serve as support of the local policemen in their respective areas. They will intensify police visibility and foot patrol operations so that crime and similar incidents are prevented,” Ticman said.
The policemen will join the 200 police personnel based at the SPD.
“Though, most of those joining the rank of policemen are graduates of criminology, there are also those who studied other disciplines who were accepted. We also need them since they can also help in the other aspects of law enforcement,” he added. – Rhodina Villanueva
