A 37-year-old man, who went into hiding after he was accused of murder four years ago, was gunned down after he resurfaced at his residence in Malabon City Friday.
Rodolfo Nierras, a resident of Dulong Hernandez Street in Barangay Catmon, Malabon City, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body and was declared dead on arrival at the President Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Medical Center (PDMMMC) in Caloocan City.
Police Officer 2 Robert Miclat said that at around 1:45 p.m., Nierras was talking to his neighbor, Nicomedes Abila, 44, when four armed men approached them and took turns shooting Nierras at close range before fleeing on foot.
Northern Police District-Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered from the crime scene six shells for .45 caliber pistol and at least 12 deformed slugs.
Miclat said Nierras’ killing could be connected to his involvement in a murder case in the area in 2004.
Nierras disappeared from their barangay after a warrant of arrest was issued against him by the court, Miclat said. He resurfaced a few weeks ago. – Pete Laude
