Pasay inaugurates refurbished hospital
Some P15 million were spent by the Pasay City government for the renovation of the Pasay City General Hospital which was inaugurated yesterday by city officials led by Mayor Wenceslao “Peewee” Trinidad.
He thanked Rep. Lito Roxas for his support in giving the PCGH a new look. “This support of Congressman Roxas will go a long way in giving our constituents better medical care. This is the advantage of having a representative who shares the same sentiments. There is synergy in our common goal of ensuring that the health and welfare of our constituents are taken cared of,”
For his part, Roxas said the old PCGH is pitiful having only 50 hospital beds. “Today, we already have a modernized PCGH. From 50 hospital beds, there are now 300 and still growing. Services have improved, slowly but surely,” Roxas said.
In his letter to Mayor Trinidad, Roxas, who is also a medical doctor and a former city councilor, said that P1 million of his priority development assistance fund, will be given to the Manila Adventist Medical Center, formerly known as the Manila Sanitarium, while the remaining P3 million will be used to purchase one X-ray unit to be placed at the Emergency Room of the PCGH. – Rhodina Villanueva
