Fake TESDA union president charged
Members of the 4,000-strong union of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have filed criminal and civil charges before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against a former employee who has been misrepresenting herself as the president of the TESDA union.
In her complaint, Sonia Lipio, president of the Association of Concerned Employees (TESDA-ACE) accused Annie Geron of misrepresenting herself as TESDA union president, apparently to continue her attacks on TESDA director-general Augusto Syjuco.
Lipio claimed that Geron was dropped from the agency’s rolls last year for insubordination and chronic absenteeism.
In her complaint, Lipio accused Geron of unjust vexation and sought P1 million in damages in a civil suit filed by the union before the Taguig regional trial court. According to Lipio, Geron’s misrepresentation unduly dragged TESDA-ACE and its 4,000 rank and file employees in her personal vendetta against Syjuco. – Mike Frialde
