Man shot dead at own birthday party

-

A man celebrating his 30th birthday was shot dead by one of five robbers who barged into his home in Quezon City Saturday night.

Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District-Station 1 stated that Haji San Miguel was entertaining around 30 guests at his house on General Tinio Street in Barangay Ines Amoranto at around 10:30 p.m. when the suspects arrived.

Senior Police Officer 2 Manuel Galang said the five suspects, all armed with handguns, barged into the party and declared a heist. Four of the robbers tied the hands of everyone in the house and divested them of cell phones and a still undetermined amount of cash.

One of the suspects reportedly sang on a videoke machine so the neighbors would not suspect a robbery was going on, Galang said.

After robbing the people who attended San Miguel’s party, one of the suspects brought the victim to the second floor of the house. The guests heard a gunshot, and the robbers left the house.

San Miguel died from a gunshot wound in the neck while being rushed to the Chinese General Hospital.

Galang said one of the guests saw the suspects flee in a red Toyota Tamaraw FX with undetermined license plates. – Reinir Padua
