2 men shot dead in Caloocan

-

A laborer and a jobless man were gunned down in separate incidents in Caloocan City Friday night.

Police identified the victims as Tennyson Pepito Jr., 24, a house painter and a resident of Kamada Compound in Dagat-Dagatan, and Danilo Rosales, 44, jobless, of Phase 12 in Bagong Silang.

Pepito was reportedly shot dead by one Joel Peru, 29, in the house of neighbor Liberato Bano at around 7 p.m. Peru is allegedly an old enemy of Pepito.

The victim was standing at the door of Bano’s house when the suspect approached him from behind and shot him in the nape, Police Officer 3 Joel Montebon said.

Peru fled after the incident, bringing the gun he used to kill Pepito.

At around 8:30 p.m., an unidentified gunman shot and killed Rosales, who was playing a game of billiards.

The suspect, with a drawn handgun, walked toward the victim and shot him in the chest.

Rosales was rushed to the San Lorenzo hospital in Lagro, Quezon City but the victim died along the way.

The Caloocan City police Sub-station 5 operatives were still gathering more information yesterday for the possible identification of the suspect and his motive in killing Rosales. – Pete Laude
