Truck kills 2 on motorbike

Two men on a motorcycle were killed when they were hit by a truck along Tandang Sora Avenue in Quezon City early morning yesterday.

Police Officer 3 Jun Sotto identified one of the victims as Usman Sultan, 19, a resident of Barangay Culiat.

Sultan was on a red Honda XRM motorcycle (NQ 1763) driven by the other victim, who has yet to be identified and did not have a driver’s license on his person.

Sotto said the victims were coming from the direction of Commonwealth Avenue when they were hit by a 10-wheeler dump truck driven by a still-unidentified suspect, who fled after the incident.

Upon impact, the victims were thrown from the motorcycle onto the street. They immediately sustained fatal head injuries because they were not wearing protective headgear, police said.

Sotto said the truck ran over Usman, who also suffered broken limbs. – Reinir Padua
