P9-M fake Tide powder seized

-

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently seized thousands of boxes of alleged fake Tide powder, estimated to be worth P9 million from two branches of Junchem Trading in Tondo, Manila.

The stores are reportedly owned by Democrito de la Cruz.

The NBI confiscated 1,227 boxes filled with detergent and 17,450 empty boxes, all bearing the “bull’s eye” trademark that the complainant, Procter & Gamble, claims resembles its Tide products.

The seized items have been stored in a warehouse in Parañaque City while the NBI is preparing to charge the owner and operator of the stores with violating the intellectual property rights law.     – Evelyn Macairan
