5 arrested for stealing 609 kilos of CDO products

-

Police arrested five CDO Food Sphere Inc. employees for trying to sell more than 600 kilos of alleged stolen CDO food products in Caloocan City Friday night.

Superintendent Rafael Santiago, Northern Police District (NPD) intelligence chief, identified the suspects as helpers Jayson Fernandez, 25; Henry Canoza, 25; Ronald Fernandez, 29; and drivers Jay-Are Francisco, 24, and William Gino, 35.

The suspects were apprehended while on board a Mitsubishi Canter van (RFB-943) that contained a total of 609 kilos of assorted CDO food products on C-3 Road corner Tilapia Street in Caloocan City at around 7 p.m.

Senior Inspector Romeo Onte, Northern Police District investigation branch chief, said CDO-Olongapo City area manager Nilo Pabustan sought the NPD’s assistance at 5:30 p.m., saying the stolen goods from their branch was about to be delivered somewhere in Caloocan City on board a cargo truck that bore the name Allianas Trucking.

The NPD intelligence agents immediately conducted a follow-up operation to intercept the suspected vehicle.

At around 7 p.m., police spotted the cargo truck on C-3 Road, intercepted the vehicle and arrested the five suspects. Pabustan identified the products in the van as belonging to the firm he represents.

Police found out that the van used by the suspects was registered to Mario Barcelona, a resident of Upper Kalaklan in Olongapo City.  – Pete Laude, Jerry Botial
